Monsters

Taming is done by Wizards casting Electric Shock. Each cast has three possible outcomes, decided by a chain of rolls.

1. Connect

The cast only does anything at skill level 0 → 1 in 4, level 1 → 1 in 3, level 2 → 1 in 2, level 3 → always.

2. Stun

50% of connecting casts just stun instead — orange name, movement stopped for skill level × 5 + 10 seconds (10s at level 0, 25s at level 3).

3. Level check

Taming stops here unless the monster is no more than 2 levels above you. That is where the Tame Level column comes from.

4. Rage

Otherwise it may enrage instead — red name, attacks other monsters for 10–30 seconds. Higher player level and skill level make this less likely.

5. Tame

Finally a roll based on the monster's HP, shown below. You can hold skill level + 2 pets (5 at skill level 3), and only 1 boss pet.

The Tame Chance column is only that last roll — the real per-cast odds are lower once the connect, stun and rage rolls are taken into account. Note it depends purely on HP, so a tough low-level monster is harder to tame than a weak high-level one.
