Mining

Where each ore comes from, and how often you get it

How mining works

Equip a tool that can mine (a pickaxe), stand next to a mine wall and swing. Every swing uses one of that spot's stones, and two separate rolls decide what you get.

1. Hit
Mine's hit rate + your weapon's Accuracy × 10, out of 100. A miss uses the stone anyway.
2. Payout
On a hit, the mine's drop rate + your Mining % bonus, out of 100.
3. Which ore
A random slot is drawn from the mine's slot pool; each ore covers a slot range, and uncovered slots yield nothing.

Accuracy on your pickaxe is worth a lot — each point adds 10% to the hit roll. Items granting Mining % raise the payout roll.

Ore purity is its durability divided by 1000, and it is rolled per ore. Purity is what refining cares about, so high-purity ore is worth keeping.
